The School Year Program at Architects For Learning provides students with comprehensive support:
What students and families need from us varies over time, so we structure our time each week to meet the ebb and flow of your child’s and family’s needs. For example, we might attend a school meeting in lieu of a 1:1 session, or we might decide not to meet on a student’s birthday but meet twice over school vacation week.
We keep track of the various ways we support students and families so we are sure to provide the support that’s needed over the course of the semester.
Individualized instruction may be provided in our office or virtually. We request at least 24 hours advanced notice if you need to switch from an in-person session to a virtual format, as the preparation for each is unique.
Please be sure your child uses a laptop or desktop computer for all virtual sessions. Cell phones and iPads do not allow students to access the features of Zoom that we rely on for instruction.
If your child’s sessions are held virtually, please be sure they are set them up for success in a room that offers privacy, a table or desk to work at, a power cord for their laptop, and a stable internet connection. Virtual learning and face-to-face learning both require students to be in environments that are free of distractions and conducive to learning.
Please note that our policy is to end a virtual session under the following conditions:
In the event that we end a session early, you will be contacted by your child’s specialist.
Our School Year Program unfolds over two, 21-week semesters. Students remain enrolled for as long as they need to be with us.
Either of us may terminate our relationship at any time. In the event of termination, you are obligated to pay for services that were provided on behalf of you and/or your child.
Tuition for the School Year Program is $4,410.00 per semester. If your child enrolls or terminates mid-semester, your tuition will be pro-rated.
Enrollment is secured each semester with a deposit of $210.00, which is charged to your credit card prior to enrollment. This amount is applied to the tuition due. The remaining balance may be paid in full by check or credit card. If you wish, we will charge five equal payments to your credit card in the following weeks:
Fall Semester
Spring Semester
We anticipate that some individual sessions will be missed due to illness, travel, holidays, weather, and other unforeseen events. We begin each semester by taking holidays and vacations into account. As the semester unfolds, we work with you and other service providers as needed to coordinate instruction.
In the event that our office closes due to severe weather, we will contact you. In many cases, we can provide sessions virtually rather than risk unsafe driving conditions.
We do not guarantee that missed sessions can or will be made up. Supplementary sessions may be offered if and when our specialist’s schedules allow. Time dedicated to you by your child’s specialist may be uneven week-to-week but will be comprehensive over the semester.
Should you need to cancel a scheduled session, please notify our main office at least 24 hours in advance.
The health of our staff and all of our families is important to us. If your child is not feeling well or has been exposed to someone with Covid, we request that you keep your child home. Please note that our policy is to end the session if students stayed home from school sick that day or present as too ill to benefit from instruction.
We are primarily an academic organization and are not affiliated with any insurance companies. We do not bill insurance companies directly for our services. Individual sessions provided by a speech-language pathologist may be covered by your insurance if there is a diagnosis to support the nature of the services provided.
Please check with your insurance company to determine whether such services are covered by your insurance plan.
If our services are covered by insurance, you will be held responsible for payment. We will provide you with statements that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after all services have been provided.
Please note we will provide statements for services as of the date that you request them. No statements will be issued for services provided prior to receipt of your request.
Architects For Learning is an affiliate training center for Boston University’s Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. Each semester, we provide training and clinical supervision to a graduate student entering our field.
From time to time, a graduate student may observe, plan, or take part in your child’s session. Our staff remains present 100% of the time to supervise and direct all of your child’s instruction.
We look forward to working with you and your child this year!
