The Foundations program at Architects For Learning provides students with four foundational elements needed for successful learning:
Our tuition-based program blends individualized instruction, coaching between sessions, parent education and support, and collaboration with teachers and related professionals. Support is comprehensive and tailored to each student’s needs.
How we work on students’ behalf ebbs and flows from week to week in keeping with their needs. For example, we might attend a school meeting in lieu of a session one week or meet twice another week when a major project is due. Time spent on behalf of your child and family may be uneven week-to-week but comprehensive over the year.
We track the various ways we support students and families carefully so we are sure to provide the support that’s needed.
Our program spans from September 9, 2024 through June 13, 2025 . Students remain enrolled for as long as they need to be with us.
Either of us may terminate our relationship at any time. In the event of termination, you are obligated to pay for services that were provided.
Individualized instruction may be provided in our office or virtually. We request at least 24 hours advanced notice if you need to switch from an in-person session to a virtual format, as the preparation for each is unique.
Please note that our policy is to end a virtual session under the following conditions:
In the event that we end a session early, you will be contacted by your child’s specialist.
We anticipate that some sessions will be missed due to illness, travel, holidays, weather, and other unforeseen events. We begin each year by taking holidays and vacations into account as well as scheduling conflicts, and we make a plan for what’s needed in lieu of those sessions.
Should you need to cancel a scheduled session, please notify your child’s specialist as soon as possible.
The health of our staff and all of our families is important to us. If your child is not feeling well or has been exposed to someone with Covid, we request that you keep your child home. Please note that our policy is to end the session if students stayed home from school sick that day or present as too ill to benefit from instruction.
We do not offer make-up sessions. Additional sessions may be offered if and when our specialist’s schedules allow.
In the event that our office closes due to severe weather, we will contact you. In many cases, we can provide sessions virtually rather than risk unsafe driving conditions.
Tuition for the Foundations program is $8,800 per academic year. Tuition is adjusted for students who enroll or terminate mid-year and who attend more than once per week.
We require all families to keep a credit card on file. Tuition is charged to your credit card in 10 equal payments, scheduled every 28 days as follows:
Our services are primarily academic in nature. We are not affiliated with any insurance companies, and we do not bill insurance companies directly for our services.
On rare occasions, services provided by a speech-language pathologist may be considered medically necessary rather than academically beneficial. In such instances and when out-of-network services are approved by your insurance company, you will be held responsible for payment. We will provide you with statements that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after services have been provided.
We will provide statements for services as of the date that you request them. No statements will be issued for services provided prior to receipt of your request.
Architects For Learning is an affiliate training center for Boston University’s Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. Each semester, we provide training and clinical supervision to a graduate student entering our field.
From time to time, a graduate student may observe, plan, or take part in your child’s session. Our staff remains present 100% of the time to supervise and direct all of your child’s instruction.
We look forward to working with you and your child this year!
