Training Programs
AFL offers a variety of professional learning experiences for school districts, schools, instructional leaders, and teachers who wish to develop their instructional practices with literacy.Face-to-face training is augmented by online learning experiences, and access to web-based resources allows instructional leaders to learn and implement new strategies and approaches to instruction.
Observation and co-teaching allow for coaching at a personal level with grade- and content-specific applications of new instructional methods.
Through long-term relationships that allow for our mentorship over time, districts and schools develop the capacity to implement, develop, refine, and sustain instructional strategies and methods that promote 21st century literacy skills. This, then, allows for the creation of professional learning communities that foster refinement of teaching practices and shared dialogue about instructional models and goals across the curriculum and the grades.
