K-12 Student Questions

What's FAQ mean?
FAQ is an acronym that stands for "Frequently Asked Questions."

What will I have to do?
You may do a variety of things at Architects for Learning. Our primarily goal is to teach you skills and strategies that will help make school easier for you. For example, you may learn organizational skills, study strategies and ways to make your reading and writing stronger. Then we practice using these strategies while completing homework assignments. By doing this, you use new skills to make work easier, and you get homework done too!

What should I bring with me?
Bring your school materials, homework and anything else you may want to work on with you. Our main goal is to teach you the skills and strategies you need to do your work on your own. We may use your homework or some of your school materials to teach you new strategies and practice using them.

Should I still come if I have no homework?
You should still come to Architects for Learning even if you do not have any homework. We use sessions when students do not have homework to teach new skills and strategies that need a boost. We always will have something fun and educational for you to do so that you keep making progress.

How long will I have to go?
Most students come to Architects for Learning one time per week for one hour, but some come more often than that or for longer sessions. How often you come will depend on what you need. Students keep coming until they feel they can use their new skills on their own and do well in school. Sometimes that takes a few months, sometimes a whole school year, and sometimes more than one school year. We'll keep working with you until you are confident and doing great.
